THE SKINNY: New Line Cinema and Paramount Pictures, in association with Michael Bay, a Platinum Dunes production and Warner Bros. Pictures (who will release the film domestically) held the Los Angeles Premiere for FRIDAY THE 13^th at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Welcome back to Camp Crystal Lake! The original FRIDAY THE 13^th was released in 1980 and starred Ari Lehman as Jason Voorhees and Betsy Palmer as Mrs. Voorhees…and of course, you can’t forget an upcoming actor named Kevin Bacon who starred as Jack in this classic horror film. Now it’s 2009 and FRIDAY THE 13^th is being re-done, and stars Jared Padalecki (SUPERNATURAL), as Clay Miller who is searching for his missing sister, Whitney (Amanda Righetti), with the help of Jenna (Danielle Panabaker). Derek Mears takes over the role as Jason Voorhees, and Nana Visitor (STAR TREK: DS9) as Pamela Voorhees.

Seen walking the “black” carpet were the stars of the film: Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker, Amanda Righetti, Travis Van Winkle (Trent), Aaron Yoo (Chewie), Derek Mears, Jonathan Sadowski (Wade), Julianna Guill (Bree), Ben Feldman (Richie), Arlen Escarpeta (Lawrence), Ryan Hansen (Nolan), Willa Ford (Chelsea), Nick Mennell (Nike), America Olivo (Amanda), Producers – Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, Director Marcus Nispel and Executive Producer Sean S. Cunningham, who was the director of  the first FRIDAY THE 13^th and screenwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift.

Joining them were guest: Julia Voth, Tim Kang, Moon Bloodgood, Kevin Zegers, Brandon Stacy, Michael Flacencia, Brenda Song, Nelsan Ellis, Lucy Davis, Owain Yeoman, Jordana Brewster, Leonardo Nam, Kristina Klebe, Erin Cummings, Tichina Arnold, Betsy Rue, Michael Copon, Zelda Williams, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Vail Bloom, Wes Craven, Ashley Edner, Scott Porter and Arielle Kebbel.

This premiere was a lot of fun as four of us photographers were picked to wear “Jason masks”…myself being one of them.
