THE SKINNY: Yesterday, we discovered that Fox will be making 24 fans very happy by offering up a special two-hour TV movie to air in the fall that will serve as a nice appetizer for the delayed Season 7, that was postponed until 2009 because of the writer’s strike.
While only eight episodes were filmed for the new season, Fox made the decision to hold them until the entire season could be shown in its 24-episode entirety.
Now iF Magazine has word from 24 executive producer Howard Gordon about how this new TV movie will fit into the show’s mythology.
“This will be a standalone movie that takes place almost a year after the sixth season ended, and will set up the story that launches the seventh season,” Gordon tells iF. “It will be entirely new material.”
Fall 2008 never seemed so far away. More news as it develops.

24...The BEST TV Show Ever! Serious. Where else can you get this much excitement anywhere (legally)? I can't waite for the 24- 2 hour movie on Nov. 23 also next season starting in Jan. '09 and well, the 24 movie! Please don't let 24 ever end. It's why I watch tv at all! Thanks Keifer & Crew & Producers & writers for such a Great Adreneline rush! Keep up all the Great work! Absolutely love "24". Looking forward to the movie this fall and the new season in 2009. I was hooked right from the first episode and wish this show would last forever. Hated seeing most of the cast killed off but you must have something more exciting coming.Keep up the good work.

Have just finished the complete boxed set of 24; how can I wait until Autumn for the movie? It's just brilliant; delighted to hear that Chloe will be staying on - she's such a moody excellent actress.

I' just finished 6th season, and I really want to see now the next history about Jack and company. Its sad, but i know we must wait until 2009. But, at least, I want to know something about 7th season. See ya

I'm looking forward to the "24" movie this fall. Last year's season was such a disappointment. All the good characters (except Chloe & Jack) have been killed off. And I'm seriously on the fence about Tony being a villain. This movie & this season better be good or I'm a fan no more!!!
