TV News: CBS ANNOUNCES JERICHO HIATUS SCHEDULE

Finale on Nov. 29 and will return Feb. 21

THE SKINNY: Presumably not because of nuclear winter: JERICHO, the CBS series about a small Kansas town that survives after a nearby nuclear blast, has been picked up for a full season, but is having a 2006 finale on Nov. 29, resuming Feb. 21, 2007, after a “clips” episode the week before so that new (or just forgetful) viewers can catch up before the story rolls forward again.

This is good news for the CBS sitcom THE KING OF QUEENS, starring Kevin James, which had been on the air for eight years but was not part of the network’s fall 2006 line-up. KING got an order for 13 episodes and will be running two back-to-back half-hour segments in JERICHO’s 8 to 9 PM slot until the latter returns.
