Drew Barrymore is still living life in the fast lane at 30... and that’s a good thing. The FEVER PITCH star also takes on the role of producer in this romantic comedy centered around the Boston Red Sox’s winning season. In fact, this former pal of E.T. is a Hollywood triple threat: actress, producer and director. "I’m a workaholic, " Barrymore proclaims proudly, even though she could use a well deserved break. "I know that every time that I have a couple of weeks between jobs I think, ‘Oh, I’m going to buckle down.’ But then I always come up with a project to do. I can’t sit still for a moment." Time off is a nice dream for Drew, but the reality is that she didn’t even have time off between her last two projects. While the actress was editing FEVER PITCH at night she was rehearsing all day for her next film LUCKY YOU . "I get home at three in the morning after waking up at eight," she says. "It’s been challenging, but that’s the kind of the way that I’m used to doing so." There was a time when Drew Barrymore was finishing CHARLIE’S ANGELS II while doing re-shoots for DUPLEX and starting FIFTY FIRST DATES –- all in the same month. How does a busy actress keep it all together? For Drew, she credits her friends for keeping her focused inside her crazy lifestyle. On top of her busy schedule as an actress, Drew found time during the last Presidential race to direct a documentary for MTV entitled CHOOSE OR LOSE: THE BEST PLACE TO START . The documentary focused on why young people do not vote and featured interviews with Sen. Hillary Clinton, Michael Moore, Jon Stewart and FAMILY GUY creator Seth McFarlane. "That was the scariest thing that I’ve ever taken on," she admis. "I had never directed before. You’re making it up as you go along. It’s not like you have a script which is sort of the guideline and your shot list." Life can’t be all glitz and glamor all the time. When Drew does take time off, she spends it with her rocker boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti, drummer for THE STROKES . Is marriage and children a future part of Drew’s crazy world? "Eventually," she says matter-of-factly. "As much as I’ve experimented with many things in my life, starting a family is not something that I never wanted to just experiment with or just see if I was ready," says Barrymore. "I wanna be ready." As for future projects, the big question is whether or not there will be a CHARLIE’S ANGELS 3 , despite the lackluster stateside boxoffice for the last film. "I know that we’d all sign up for it if there was one," says Barrymore. "But there are no plans in the works. We all three do still hangout all the time anyway and so we might as well just be filming it and doing something." Drew is also a bit cautious when asked about her returning to directing. "I don’t like to talk about things until I do them," says Barrymore. "It sort of takes the air out of it once you’ve said it enough. Then it’s like you’ve already done it and then you’re not as driven about it. It’s definitely in the future." Actress. Producer. Director. Drew Barrymore is the standard for which all young actors should aspire and she still has a few things left to accomplish as well. "I want to go to India," confesses Drew. "I want to go to Africa. Those are the places that I have yet to explore. Bon Voyage, Miss Barrymore! You’ve earned it. FEVER PITCH review
